Funeral service for Dolphie R. Welker of Collinsville, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. today at Allan and Ciuferi Funeral Home there. The Rev. Dale Clemens will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery at Collinsville.

Welker, 72, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1992, at Notre Dame Hills Living Center in Belleville, Ill.

He was born Dec. 18, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, son of Dollar R. and Josephine Baker Welker. He and Mary A. Cherry were married Feb. 13, 1983.

Welker was a retired steel worker. He was a member of the Church of God, Collinsville Masonic Lodge 712, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois, VFW Post 1117, Ainad Shrine Temple, Sword of Bunker Hill, Chemical Workers Local 50, and Collinsville Shrine Club. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Daphne Heatley of St. Ann; a brother, Dennis Welker of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Dena Talley of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
