GEORGIA L. GARNER

Georgia L. Garner, 76, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1992 while visiting her daughter in Ruston, La.

She was born June 30, 1916 at Essex, the daughter of James and Norma Auchonbaugh Jamerson.

She married Herbert L. Garner on Jan. 1, 1938 at Jackson. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1985.

She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Rhodes, Ruston, Paulette Inman, Frederick, Md., Carolyn Maevers, Cleveland, Texas; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1938 from Chaffee and had worked at Chaffee General Hospital and Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was an active member of Red Star Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. Cy Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.
