JIM D. WESTERN

BERTRAND -- Jim D. Western, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center Emergency Room.

He was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Bass Springs, Tenn., son of William David and Emily Brasher Western. He and Carrie E. Carlyle were married Sept. 25, 1924. She died Jan. 13, 1992.

Western was a retired farmer, and member of Bement Baptist Church near here.

Survivors include five sons, Billy Western of House Springs, Harbert Western of Sikeston, Carl, Jimmy and Lloyd Western of Bertrand; four daughters, Alma Smith of Morehouse, Mable Holmes of Miner, Berma Baker of House Springs, Linda Ramsey of Sikeston; three half brothers, W.D., Haywood and Logan Western of Milan, Tenn.; a half sister, Emma Clinney of Louisville, Ky.; 35 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Billie Butler will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
