MARY E. ATCHLEY

DEXTER -- Funeral service for Mary Edith Atchley of St. Louis was held Tuesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Keith Atchley officiated, with burial in Bernie Cemetery.

Atchley, 71, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1992, at Westwind Care Center in Ellisville.

She was born March 26, 1921, near Essex, daughter of Sam and Irene Stephens Rodgers. She was formerly of the Parma and Bernie communities. She first married Russell Stevens in 1936, who preceded her in death. She later married Roy Atchley March 6, 1946, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell Stevens of Manchester, Roger Atchley of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Sandra Bloecher of Waco, Texas, Sherry Hogg of Marion, Ill.; two stepsons, Dathel Atchley of Texas, Jimmie Atchley of St. Louis; four stepdaughters, Lorella Stahl and Jantha Hughes of Florida, Betty Dohphy of Georgia, Barbara Smith of Texas; three brothers, Carlton and Orville Rodgers of Jackson, Bobby Rodgers of Bernie; two sisters, Wilma Triplett of Ellsinore, Glenda Allen of Bernie; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
