MCGEE -- Virgie L. Payne, 79, of McGee, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1992, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She was born Aug. 8, 1913, at Arab, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Telle Williams. She and John A. Payne were married March 25, 1932, at Arab. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Denver Payne of Advance, Doyle Payne of Desloge, Avon Payne of Oakville, Lealean Payne of Edwardsville, Ill.; three daughters, Cleo Wisdom of Arnold, Loretta Edwards and Rita West of Lowndes; 24 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren.. ...

She was preceded in death by two brothers, a twin sister, a grandson and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Revs. Ray Placher and Larry Underwood will officiate, with burial in New Hope-McGee Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.
