Funeral service for James H. Killian of Joplin, formerly of Cape Girardeau, was held Nov. 7 at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin. The Rev. David Miller officiated, with burial in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Killian, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1992, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.

He was born April 30, 1924, at Perryville. He and the former Patsy Green were married May 27, 1950, in Cape Girardeau.

Killian lived in Cape Girardeau from 1950-58. He received a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Southeast Missouri State University, and played football there four years.

He was a manager and plant engineer with Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Joplin, Elks Lodge, Joplin Bowling Association and Joplin Telephone Pioneers. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patti Coleman of Webb City, Wendi Smith of Joplin; a sister, Nina Thrall of Logans Port, Ind., and two grandchildren.
