CHARLESTON -- Dan Scott, 79, of Charleston, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born July 11, 1913, at Charleston, son of Alex and Tina Scott. He and Celestine Rush were married in 1939. She died Dec. 20, 1975...

CHARLESTON -- Dan Scott, 79, of Charleston, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 11, 1913, at Charleston, son of Alex and Tina Scott. He and Celestine Rush were married in 1939. She died Dec. 20, 1975.

Scott was a member of Holy Trinity Church of Deliverance, and served on the deacon board.

Survivors include three sons, Hubert and Charles Scott of Chicago Heights, Ill., Eddie Scott of Jackson, Mich.; three daughters, Celestine Clemons of Chicago, Pearlie Scott of Chicago Heights, Ethel Scott of Charleston; five brothers, Clarence, Freddie, Robert and Louis Scott of Charleston, Jimmy Scott of Marion, Ark.; two sisters, Roberta Coleman of Charleston, Pearl Newson of Chicago; 20 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church. Bishop James Whitfield will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. Friday.
