BENTON -- Frank V. Klueppel Sr., 98, of Benton died Dec. 24, 1992, at his home. He was a farmer who retired in 1962 and had farmed in the Benton area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I, serving in France in 1918. He was born April 1, 1894, in St. Louis, the son of August and Mary Hercules Klueppel. Both preceded him in death...

BENTON -- Frank V. Klueppel Sr., 98, of Benton died Dec. 24, 1992, at his home.

He was a farmer who retired in 1962 and had farmed in the Benton area most of his life.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I, serving in France in 1918.

He was born April 1, 1894, in St. Louis, the son of August and Mary Hercules Klueppel. Both preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy Scherer on May 5, 1931. She survives.

He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and belonged to the church's Men's Club.

He is survived by three sons, Frank V. Klueppel Jr. of Cape Girardeau, and Joseph R. Klueppel and Charles E. Klueppel, both of Benton; one brother, August Klueppel of Benton; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, with the Rev. Art Basler officiating.

Burial will be in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in Benton.
