JACKSON -- Paul E. Maloney, 78, of Jackson, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1914, at Portageville, son of Leas and Lela Parker Maloney. He was married Sept. 12, 1936, to Myrtle Gremard. She survives. He had been employed by Associated Groceries of St. Louis, as a meat cutter, retiring in 1987 and moving to Jackson...

JACKSON -- Paul E. Maloney, 78, of Jackson, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Feb. 12, 1914, at Portageville, son of Leas and Lela Parker Maloney.

He was married Sept. 12, 1936, to Myrtle Gremard. She survives.

He had been employed by Associated Groceries of St. Louis, as a meat cutter, retiring in 1987 and moving to Jackson.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He was also a member of the Whitehouse Retreat League, and had been a member of the National Guard at Portageville.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Maloney of Vandalia, Ill., Clyde Maloney of Jackson and Anthony Maloney of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Betty Clay of Marion, Ill., Barbara Johnson of Jackson, and Shirley Grant of Addison, Ill.; a brother, Earl Maloney of Portageville; a sister, Dorothy Beckman of Mt. Dora, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, a grandchild and two great grandchildren.

Service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson, with Msgr. Edward Eftink, officiating; Burial will be in Portageville City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home between 3 and 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be held today at 7:30 at the funeral home.
