Centerpieces for tea parties, tailgate parties and graduation will be on display during a flower show presented by the Council of Garden Clubs of Cape Girardeau.

The show will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Family Life Center at Centenary United Methodist Church. Admission is $2.

The theme is "Set the Table" and should offer more practical and interesting arrangements, said Margaret Lents, one of the show's chairman.

Lents will be entering an arrangement for the tailgating table artistry category.

The idea of table arrangements is a good one because people who come to the show can go away with practical ideas, she said.

While most of the entries are from garden club members, the show is open to anyone. There are divisions for artistic, educational and horticulture showings.

The council of garden clubs includes the Four Seasons Garden Club, the Ramblewood Garden Club, the River Hills Garden Club and the Rose Hills Garden Club.

Each of the clubs helps maintain the rose gardens at Capaha Park.
