Four area people were injured in Sunday accidents, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A Sunday afternoon accident on Cape Girardeau County Road 379 seven miles west of Gordonville, Mo., resulted in two people being taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital with moderate injuries.

According to reports, Kassie Cunz, 18, of Marble Hill, Mo., was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Billi Hohman, 32, of Cape Girardeau. Hohman reportedly crossed the center line and struck head-on a vehicle driven by Randy Earnest, 29, of Cape Girardeau.

Earnest and Cunz were both transported to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

In the other accident, two people were hospitalized.

Howard Gaines, 18, of Puxico, Mo., was traveling east on Route J four miles west of Bloomfield, Mo., in Stoddard County when a vehicle driven by Lee Kent, 51, of Dexter, Mo., traveling south turned into the path of the Gaines automobile.

A passenger in the Gaines car, 19-year-old Christina Moore of Puxico was taken to Three Rivers North medical facility in Poplar Bluff, Mo., with moderate injuries. A passenger in the Kent car, Marsha Kent, 43, of Dexter was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with injuries listed as moderate.
