LOCAL GIRL WINS RODEO SCHOLARSHIP

Erica Johnson was recently selected as the recipient of a $300 scholarship from the High School Rodeo Association and Ariat Boot Co. She also received the George Gorrell Memorial Scholarship.

She is the daughter of Bert and Mary Helen Johnson, and a recent graduate of Sikeston High School in Sikeston, Mo.

She received the scholarship after the Missouri High School Finals Rodeo held at the Flickerwood Arena.

Johnson, a two-time state champion, was recently named Pole Bending Champion of the year in Missouri. She also competed in barrel racing and breakaway roping, goat tying and team roping in the state rodeo finals.
