Consent ordinances

  • Passed an ordinance accepting general warranty deeds and temporary construction easements from Drury Land Development Corp., Drury Development Corp., DSW Development Corp., Bluff City Beer Co., and Eugene and Marsha Holloway for the widening of Siemers Drive between Campster Drive and Bloomfield Road.
  • Passed an ordinance accepting a temporary construction easement from Greater Cape Girardeau Area Benevolent Association to construct a rail spur in the Greater Cape Girardeau Industrial Park.
  • Passed an ordinance approving the record plat of McDonald's Subdivision.

  • Passed an ordinance amending Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances by changing the zoning of the north side of Lexington Avenue, between Perryville Road and Steven Drive, from R-1 to R-4.
  • Passed an ordinance granting a special-use permit to Greater Missouri Builders Inc. and Tyson P. Zahner for purposes of constructing, maintaining and operating a drive-in restaurant in a 12-foot-by-28-foot portable building in the 2100 block of William Street in the Town Plaza Parking Lot.
  • Passed an ordinance granting a special-use permit to First Assembly of God Church of Cape Girardeau for purposes of constructing, maintaining and operating a church and day-care center in the 3700 block of Old Hopper Road.

  • Passed an ordinance amending Chapter 26 of the City Code relating to lowering the blood-alcohol content level necessary for a conviction of driving with excessive blood alcohol content from 0.10 to 0.08.
  • Passed an ordinance amending Chapter 5 of the City Code relating to possession or consumption of alcohol in public.
  • Passed an ordinance amending Section 19-9 of the City Code relating to personnel policies, appeals and due process procedure.
  • Passed an ordinance amending schedule F of Section 26-247 of the City Code repealing and establishing no parking on Henderson Avenue.
  • Passed an ordinance authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the installation of a traffic signal by others, to be maintained by the commission.
  • Passed an ordinance providing for the levying of the annual city revenue tax; library funding tax; debt service fund tax; Special Business No. 2 tax; for the fiscal year to end June 30.

  • Passed a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a Local Records Preservation Grant Agreement with the Missouri Secretary of State.

  • Passed a resolution authorizing an application for grant funding under the Historic Preservation Program of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and execution of all necessary grant documents.

  • Granted a conditional approval of a retail liquor-by-the-drink license for Tamara Zellars Buck dba The Phat Cat, 731 Broadway, Tamara Elaine Zellars Buck, managing officer.
  • Granted a temporary 5 percent beer-by-the-drink license for Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau for an event to be held Sept. 7 and 8 at 905 Enterprise Drive, Minor's Harley-Davidson, Joe H. Anders, managing officer.
  • Granted a temporary 5 percent beer-by-the-drink license for Fred Higdon, dba SEMO District Fair Association for an event to be held Sept. 6 through 8, Fred Higdon, managing officer. Beer stands will be located in Arena Park at the following locations: No. 1 southeast of the Arena Building, No. 2 southwest of the Arena Building, No. 3 northwest of the Arena Building and No. 4 northeast of the Arena Building.
  • Approved of a temporary 5 percent by-the-drink license for Fred Higdon, dba SEMO District Fair Association for an event to be held Sept. 9 through 15.
