A Pocahontas teen-ager was injured Thursday when the vehicle he was driving overturned north of Fruitland, Mo., and two people from Mississippi sustained moderate injuries Friday in an accident east of Benton, Mo.

Brian Mann, 17, of Pocahontas was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital after the 4:40 p.m. accident Thursday on Route C, 4 miles north of Fruitland.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, he drove off the right side of the roadway and overcorrected, driving off the left side of the roadway before the vehicle overturned.

Felicia Newman and Tyrone Newman, both 37 and from Lexington, Miss., were injured in an accident at 6:45 a.m. Friday on Highway 77, one mile east of Benton. They were taken to St. Francis Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle, William Davis, 59, of Dexter, Mo., was not injured.

According to the patrol, Felicia Newman was stopped in traffic attempted to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by Davis' vehicle. Davis was cited for following too closely.
