The Plant Lady's Corner has moved into new quarters in downtown Cape Girardeau.
The business, previously located at 1 S. Main, has moved up the street to 221 Independence.
Debbie Naeter, a certified Master Gardener, has operated the Plant Lady's Corner, a plant-care service for homes and businesses, for a number of years.
"We design, install and maintain flowers," said Naeter. "Plant maintenance is a big part of the business. We make weekly, or monthly visits to homes and businesses to groom and care for plants, "
The Plant Lady's Corner also supplies tropical plants for fashion shows, conferences, and booths of fairs and home shows.
The new center will feature tropical plants and related items, said Naeter. "I can show consumers the products that are available for interior design."
Naeter, who has been in the plant business for 15 years, received Master Gardener certification in early 1996, following training and volunteer assignments established by the University of Missouri Extension Service.
Requirements for the certification included a 10-session course with topics ranging from insect and plant disease control, lawn management, annuals and perennials and landscaping. Following the classroom training session, participants are required to donate 30 hours of volunteer service to the sponsoring center by conducting horticulture education programs.
