Action Items

Power and Light Committee

* Accepted the bid of Siemens Westinghouse Technical Services Inc. of St. Louis in the amount of $62,372 for the removal, disposal and replacement of two 500 KVA transformers under the PCB Transformer Replacement Project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Siemens Westinghouse Technical Services Inc. relative to the removal, disposal and replacement of two 500 KVA transformers under the PCB Transformer Replacement Project.

* Accepted the bid of Tom Beussink Excavating Inc. of Jackson in the amount of $42,135 relative to the Highway 61 North Industrial Phase I Clearing Project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Tom Beussink Excavating Inc. relative to land clearing under the Highway 61 North Industrial Park Phase I Clearing Project.

* Accepted a petition for voluntary annexation of property owned by the A. E. Kies Family Partnership and setting a public hearing for Monday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m.

* Amended Chapter 2, Article III, Division 2 of the Code of Ordinances relative to changes in the city's Water Use Ordinance.

* Authorized payment of $107,836 under the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System Contract for the Municipal Power Plant.

Street Committee

* Approved letter of support to the Cape Girardeau County Soil and Water Conservation District for proposed detention basins in the Hubble Creek Watershed.

* Set a public hearing for Monday, March 20, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. to consider the rezoning of properties addressed as 2769 and 2791 E. Jackson Boulevard from R-3 (general residential) to C-2 (general commercial) as submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Phillips and Kevin Sawyer.

* Set a public hearing for Monday, March 20, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. to consider the rezoning of approximately 16.3 acres of property situated at the southwest quadrant of the North Lacey Street and Ridgeway Drive intersection from R-2 (single family residential) to R-3 (general residential) as submitted by Stacy Mansfield and Dr. Ron Anderson.

* Approved the final plat of Fairway Estates 7th Subdivision as submitted by Ronn Unterreiner of J.B. Properties Inc.

* Approved the final plat of Main Condominium as submitted by John Lichtenegger of Appleton Valley farm Inc.

* Amended the Speed Limit Ordinance Schedule V by adding thereto new speed limit designations.

Executive Session

* Held executive session to discuss litigation, personnel and purchase of property.
