Look at me, look at me,

What do you see?

A recycled teenager,

In her fifties.

Walking around with flowers in her hair,

Putting off a certain flair.

One who likes to live in the past,

Wishing those days would have last and last.

Whose heroes were John Wayne and Roy Rogers,

And favorite ladies were Betty Davis and Ginger Rodgers.

Roller skating to "MOON RIVER" was far out,

And Elvis was "King" there is no doubt.

Going to the Drive-In-Movies was Saturdays fun,

Swimming in a swimming hole in the sun.

We'd Jitter Bug from daylight to dark,

And walk hand in hand in the park.

You never heard of smoke & dope,

The strongest we had was a Root Beer float.

I remember those Ice Cream Parlors,

With the bar stools & juke box in the corner.

How about the long skirts & bobby socks,

Pony tails and saddle ox.

Cruising around in our 57 Chevy,

Listening to the Beatles, we thought that was heavy.

Ch to re-live those days so long ago,

And turn back the years to twenty or so.

But I can't do that,

So I'll just have to settle for re-living the past.

Hoping I can spread a little knowledge & cheer,

To the younger ones that will hear.

So forgive me if sometimes I'm a little silly,

I'm just going back to when I was a filly.
