The Chaffee Emergency Management Agency will sponsor a series of free classes designed to train shelter operations teams for Scott County and the city of Chaffee.

The first of the sessions attracted 25 participants.

People can attend the remaining classes without attending the first class. The first course can be made up prior to the remaining classes through self-study.

Participants must attend all three remaining classes:

* An overview of mass care on Tuesday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m.

* Shelter operations on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m.

* Shelter simulation on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m.

All classes will be held at the Country C.B. Club behind Rhodes 101, off Highway 77 in Chaffee.
