The Oak Ridge Homemakers met at the home of John and Barbara Popp Dec. 8 for its annual Christmas celebration. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by retiring President Lee Anderson. The devotion was also given by Anderson. Mary Dee Ford installed the new officers for 2000-2001. The new officers are President Marilyn Rutherford, Vice President Jackie Rutherford, Secretary Roxanne Smith, Treasurer Billie Criddle, Historian Carole Jo Byrd, Song/Game Leader Melva Floyd and Reporter Lee Anderson...

Secret Pal gifts were exchanged and new Secret Pals were picked for 2000.

The club voted to donate money to buy Christmas gifts for residents of a nursing home. Money was also donated to the Jackson Elks, to purchase gloves and hats for needy children.

Angels were added to the group's Christmas display in the Jackson City Park. The display was put up by Lee Anderson, Marilyn Rutherford and Jackie Rutherford. The members served ice cream and cake to the residents of Jackson Manor, which is an ongoing project each month.
