The Jackson High Schcool senior has been involved in seemingly every extracurricular activity at JHS. Even before the starts her college or prefessionalc areer, Jamie Dost would ahve no trouble filling a resume.

The Jackson High Schcool senior has been involved in seemingly every extracurricular activity at JHS. This dedication to her school helped earn her the Missouri Award for Outstanding Achievement in Citzenship recently. Dost was one of 15 seniors in Missouri to be so honored by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Missouri Bar Association. She will receive her award at a luncheon April 20 at the governor's mansion in Jefferson City.

"I feel honored to present my school through the award," Dost said. "I'm looking forward to attending the luncheon."

Dost is looking at the University of Missouri and St. Louis University, where she hopes to major in biological engineering, before going to medical school. Eventually she hopes to be a pediatrician. She lists A.P. calculus, A.P. chemestry and A.P. physics as her favorite classes.

Dost was nominated by her principal and counselors. Each school nominated one student for the honor, which recognizes good citizenship and leadership in school, involvement in volunteer work or community service and academic record.

Dost is currently vice president of the senior class, student body secretary and is inolved in student council, National Honor Society, FBLA, Spanish Club, J-Club, JOCKS, Hi-Step, Tenn spirit, Junior Rotarians and the Senior Steering Committee.

She is the daughter of Gary and Sheri Dost.
