Stephen C. Wilson and Elizabeth H. Heisserer have joined their law practices to form a new law firm -- Wilson & Heisserer L.C.

The new firm is at 310 Broadway, 8th Floor, KFVS Tower in downtown Cape Girardeau.

Wilson, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School, also attended American University in Washington, D.C., and Southeast Missouri State University.

He was in private practice in Jackson from 1983 to 1997, when he opened an office at Cape Girardeau.

He is a member of he Missouri Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association and is licensed to practice in all Missouri and Illinois state courts, as well as the United States District Courts of the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois. Wilson's areas of emphasis are criminal defense and civil and business litigation.

Heisserer, formerly Elizabeth Chastain, was previously in partnership with Lichtenegger, Weiss, Fetterhoff & Heisserer L.L.C., Jackson, since 1995.

She is a cum laude graduate of the Southern Illinois University School of Law. She also received undergraduate degrees in marketing management and business manage from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar Associations and is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois state courts, as well as the United States District Courts of the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois. Heisserer's areas of emphasis area family law, bankruptcy, Social Security, workers compensation and personal injury.
