SERIOUS INJURY IN ACCIDENT NEAR BURFORDVILLE

BURFORDVILLE -- A Marble Hill woman was seriously injured Wednesday after the vehicle she was riding in overturned near Burfordville.

Beverly Filer, 41, was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital after the 4:20 p.m. accident on Highway 34, one-tenth mile west of Route U.

The driver of the vehicle, Steven Filer, 44, of Marble Hill sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the same hospital.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the vehicle was eastbound on Highway 34 when Filer swerved to avoid another vehicle that had traveled into his lane. The Filer vehicle then ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned.
