Cape Girardeau residents will notice a change in their trash and recycling pickups next week because of the Fourth of July holiday.

All city offices and departments will be closed July 4 to observe the holiday. There will be no pickup service that day.

Tuesday residential solid waste and recycling routes will be picked up July 5.

Monday, Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their normal schedules.

There will be no special pickups for bulky refuse or compost materials.
