Johnson is owner of The Comix Strip, and is the son of Osie Johnson of Cape Girardeau, and Hubert Johnson of Cairo, Ill.

Mrs. Harper is the former Sheila Essner, daughter of Paul and Geneva Essner of Benton. She is employed by Drury Southwest of Cape Girardeau. Harper is employed by McDowell Farms of Charleston. He is the son of Willadean Harper of Bertrand, and the late Leland Harper.
