ANNIVERSARY: CHITTYS OBSERVE 65TH EVENT

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Chitty of Scott City celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a dinner April 1, 2001.

The event was held at the home of Don and Elsie Caldwell of Dutchtown, Mo. Co-hosts were Bob and Evelyn Chitty of St. Louis.

Chitty and Ruby Lynn were married April 4, 1936, by the Rev. Cleo Tapp at the Assembly of God parsonage in Dexter, Mo. Their attendants were Ellene Tapp and Lawrence Perry.

Chitty is the son of the late Walter and Emma Chitty of Scott City. Mrs. Chitty is the daughter of the late Wessie and Mabel Lynn of Blodgett, Mo.

The Chittys owned Carlos' Grocery 19 years, retiring in 1976. They attend Cornerstone Church in Cape Girardeau.
