Earl and Virginia Lewis of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 60th anniversary Dec. 24, 1999.

In observance of the event they spent two weeks visiting a son, Earl G. Lewis Jr., in San Diego, Calif.

Lewis and the former Virginia Stubblefield were married at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Their attendants were Lorene Mabrey and the late William Mabrey.

The couple has two sons, Gary Lewis and wife Emma of Cape Girardeau, and Earl Lewis Jr.

Grandchildren include Earl G. III, Keith, Melissa, and Mark Lewis of San Diego; Derek and Deana Lewis, and Kendall and Melanie King of Cape Girardeau.
