KENNETT'S PRITCHETT COLLECTS 30 POINTS IN WIN OVER TIGERS

Kennett, led by a 30-point effort by Dustin Pritchett, dealt a 64-49 loss to Cape Central Friday night at Tiger Field House.

Pritchett, the only Kennett player in double figures, scored 12 of hits points in the first quarter when the Indians took a 22-8 lead.

Cape Central coach Brett Reutzel said Pritchett isn't usually Kennett's top offensive player. The Tigers concerned themselves instead with Kennett's main inside threats.

"We did a good job collapsing inside, but the kid was on fire," said Reutzel, who saw his team fall to 2-8.

The first quarter proved pivotal as Central was outscored just 42-41 over the final three quarters. Kennett led 38-22 at halftime and 55-38 entering the fourth quarter.

Anthony Harris led Central with 10 points.

Notre Dame 52, Kelly 51

BENTON, Mo. -- Notre Dame jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first quarter and then held on for dear life as Kelly outscored the Bulldogs in each ensuing quarter.

Kelly (4-7) actually overtook Notre Dame (9-3) in the fourth period, only to see the Bulldogs recover for the win.

Jonathan Ressel, with 13 points, was the only Notre Dame player to finish in double figures. Jon Heuring, the lone Kelly player to score more than nine points, scored a game-high 18 points for the Hawks.

Kelly cut the lead to 26-19 by halftime and trimmed the deficit to 41-36 by the close of the third quarter.

Scott City 75, Chaffee 59

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Scott City held a whopping 52-23 rebounding advantage as it improved to 3-0 in Scott Mississippi play.

Nick Steimle, who had 14 rebounds, led Scott City (7-4) with 20 points. Teammate Ben Sample added 16 points and pulled down a team-high 15 rebounds.

Ricky Keller added 13 points and D.J. Walton finished with 12.

Matt Stroup scored a game-high 21 points for Chaffee, which connected on 10 3-pointers on the night. G.P. Glueck added 14 points and Perry Rice netted 10.

Scott City took a 14-13 lead into the second quarter and built a 35-26 lead by halftime. The Rams led 55-40 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Advance 64, Bernie 42

ADVANCE, Mo. -- The Hornets outscored the visiting Mules in every quarter as they improved to 10-1 on the season.

Jared Ritter led four Hornets in double figures with 17 points. Andrew Jenkins was next in line with 15 points and was followed by Adam Rainey (14) and Cain Kelley (10).

Advance jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter and led 30-19 at halftime.

Perryville 76Crystal City 53

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Chad Ozark scored a game-high 23 points as Perryville evened its record on the season.

In winning its Jefferson County Conference opener, Perryville (5-5) also received 18 points from Tyler Abernathy and 12 from Andrew Meyr.

The Pirates were in control throughout, building a 26-10 lead by the end of the first quarter. Perryville held a comfortable 40-19 lead at halftime.

ST. VINCENT 53, ST. PIUS 51

HILLSBORO, Mo. -- St. Vincent (6-3) rallied from a two-point deficit at the end of three quarters, to outscore St. Pius 17-13 in the final period to gain the comeback win.

With the win, St. Vincent stands at 1-0 in the Jefferson County Conference's small-school division.

Tyler Wengert led the Indians with 18 points, while Ryan Brown and Mark Gotto chipped in with 14 and 11, respectively.

Oran 83, M. Heights 54

PATTON, Mo. -- Oran had five players reach double figures as the Eagles improved to 8-3.

Nathan Seyer led Oran with 18 points, followed by Garrett Cook with 15, Kevin Kielhofner with 12 and Ryne Wood and Tyler Cookson with 10 apiece.

Brandon Tallent and Cody Thompson scored 11 apiece for Meadow Heights.

Leopold 55, Oak Ridge 54

OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Ashton James deposited an offensive rebound with six seconds remaining to lift Leopold to a one-point victory.

Oak Ridge (1-8), which had turned the ball over with 15 seconds remaining, got off an inside shot at the buzzer but saw the ball bounce out.

Daniel Schaab led Leopold with 20 points as he hit on five of the team's eight 3-pointers. James finished with 15 points and Paul Hutchings netted 12.

Jeff Cowan paced Oak Ridge with 14 points while Beau Morrison had 11 and Ben Fadler 10.

EAGLE RIDGE CHRISTIAN 58, NEW SALEM 57

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- The Eagle Ridge Eagles improved to 5-7 with the close win over New Salem.

With the score tied at 26 at the half, the Eagles outscored New Salem 17-16 in the third period to gain the eventual one-point advantage. The teams played even in the final stanza.

Kris Dodson led the Eagles with 18 points, while Mike Probst added 16.

Jason Conway paced New Salem with 30 points.

DELTA 76, ZALMA 64

ZALMA, Mo. -- The Delta Bobcats jumped to a 41-19 first-half lead over a flat Zalma team.

Zalma (0-6) closed the gap with a second-half comeback, outscoring the Bobcats 45-35.

But it was too little, too late as Delta held on to gain the win.

Craig Bock led the Bobcats with 27 points, while Troy Nussbaum provided 19 and Lance Kinder 14.

Steven McCain led Zalma with 20 points, followed by Brad Isaac with 14. Chad and Curt Wiseman scored 10 points apiece.

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- The Lady Eagles (5-3) ran out to a 27-0 first quarter lead, then cruised to victory.

Amber Karnes led with 20 points, followed by Brandy Shreve with 13 and Carrie Margrabe with 10.

Leah Poole had 23 points for New Salem (3-4).
