CHARLESTON, Mo. -- The Cape Girardeau Best Mortgage Junior American Legion baseball team advanced to the District 14 Tournament winner's bracket finals with a 14-4 win over Dunklin County Saturday.

Second-seeded Best Mortgage (38-9) will play top-seeded Sikeston (38-6) today at 1 p.m.

Matt Wulfers went six innings and allowed four runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out two.

Chris Conrad went 4-for-4, Blake Urhahn went 3-for-3 and Seth Hudson, Mitch Craft and Patrick Slattery all had two hits.

White Sox split with Scott City

The Cape Girardeau White Sox pitchers allowed just six hits over two games, but came away with a doubleheader split with Scott City.

The White Sox won the opener 5-0 then fell 2-1 in the nightcap.

Jeff Brosey picked up the win in the first game. He allowed two hits and no walks while striking out 10.

Scott City's Steven Posey got the win in Game 2. He held the Sox to three hits and three walks while strikng out six.

Wayne Essner suffered the loss, allowing just four hits. He struck out five and walked four.
