SPORTS DIGEST: CHAFFEE LEGION CLAIMS PAIR OF VICTORIES

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Chaffee's Medicap Pharmacy Sr. Legion team knocked off Poplar Bluff 9-0 and 5-2 to run its winning streak to 22 straight Tuesday night.

Matt Stroup picked up the win as Chaffee improved to 36-8 and 19-5 in district play.

Garrett Cook hit a three-run homer and Todd Friend hit a solo shot as Adam Friga and Perry Rice added two hits each.

In the second game, Scott Eftink got the win while Justin Simpher and Stroup pitched shutout relief.

G.P. Glueck and Stroup had two hits each, hwile Jon Heuring hit a two-run homer.
