ABBEVILLE, La. -- The New Hamburg Heat evened its record to 3-3 Thursday at the 16-U Softball World Series with a 4-1 victory over a squad from the Ohio Valley Region.

The Heat managed just four hits but took advantage of five errors for three unearned runs. Monica Senciboy, Ashley Kern, Abby Walter and Amanda O'Brien each had one hit.

The Heat scored one run in the first, two in the second and one in the sixth for a 4-0 lead.
