COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Southeast Missouri State University's softball team salvaged the finale of a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series by beating host Tennessee Tech 5-2 Sunday.

The Otahkians, who were swept in Saturday's doubleheader, improved to 10-14 overall and 4-2 in OVC play. The Golden Eaglettes are 23-14 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Jenny Doehring (8-6) pitched all seven inning, scattering 10 hits. She struck out four and walked five.

Southeast had eight hits, two each by Doehring and Brooke Nett. Courtney Eklund drove in a pair of runs.

The Otahkians jumped on top with two runs in the first inning and they never trailed.

Southeast will return to action Thursday with an OVC doubleheader at Eastern Illinois.
