NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Aubrey Reese of Murray State helped put his team back into first place in the Ohio Valley Conference and was honored Monday as the OVC player of the week.

Reese averaged 25.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in three victories last week. He posted a double-double against Southeast Missouri with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Austin Peay's Joe Williams is the OVC newcomer of the week. He averaged 20.3 points, 10 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 blocks to help the Governors sweep its three-game OVC road swing.

Marquis Sykes is the OVC rookie of the week. He scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 22 assists as Morehead State split its two league games.

The freshman matched a school record with 16 assists in a win over Tennessee State and had 13 points, six assists in a loss to Austin Peay.

On the women's side, Jamie Thomatis earned OVC player of the week after she helped Middle Tennessee snap Tennessee Tech's 13-game OVC winning streak.

Thomatis scored 22 of her team-high 25 points in the second half as the Lady Raiders beat Tech 90-82. She made 10-of-17 field goal attempts, including a pair of 3-pointers.
