BRIEFLY: NOTRE DAME RANKED NO. 1 IN PRESEASON BASEBALL POLL

The Notre Dame Bulldogs have been awarded the No. 1 ranking among Class 2A schools in the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association's preseason poll released Friday.

Notre Dame finished as state runner-up last season with a 26-4 record. Defending state champion St. Pius X, which beat Notre Dame 13-7 in the state title game, is ranked No. 5.

In 1A, the poll has Advance ranked at No. 3 behind top-ranked Bevier and Marion C. Early.
