Cape Girardeau native Erin Vogt played a big role in leading the University of Arizona women's swimming team to its first-ever Pac-10 Conference championship.

Arizona scored 1,325 points to beat runner-up Stanford, which had won every Pac-10 title since the inception of the meet in 1987. Stanford had 1,197 points.

Vogt broke the Arizona school record in the 200-yard butterfly with a second-place time of 1:56.74. She also was third in the 400-yard individual medley (4:14.53) and swam a leg on the 400 medley relay team that was second.

Vogt will compete in next month's NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.
