CHAFFEE LEGION SWEEPS PAIR FROM POPLAR BLUFF

CHAFFEE -- -- Chaffee Legion swept Poplar Bluff in a district doubleheader Thursday night, winning 8-6 in the opener and 10-1 in the nightcap.

Chaffee improved to 13-1 overall and 10-0 in the district.

Josh Eftink pitched three hitless innings in relief of Bill Posey to get the win in the opener. Eftink walked one and struck out four.

Todd Friend, Brad Kolwyck and Matt Stroup had two hits apiece. Kolwyck, Stroup and Scott Eftink all finished with two RBIs.

John O'Rourke notched the win in the nightcap, allowing four hits, striking out five and walking one.

Eftink hit for the cycle and finished with four RBIs. Perry Rice added two hits.
