The Cape Girardeau Riverdogs snapped a four-game losing streak with a 12-5 victory over Saline County (Ill.) Monday night.

The win was the first since a season-opening victory and upped the Riverdogs' mark to 2-4. The game was also the first in nearly three weeks after rain washed out eight of the team's last nine games.

Michael Minner went the nine-inning distance for the Riverdogs, allowing 10 hits, striking out four and walking four.

Ross Bennett and Shane Gibson each had a two-run homer among their two hits. Chris Bradshaw finished with two hits and three RBIs and Greg Craft had two hits and two RBIs. The Riverdogs had 14 hits overall.

After Saline County scored a run in the top of the first, the Riverdogs countered with two runs in the home half, part of eight unanswered runs that had the Cape team ahead 8-1 after six innings.
