BENTON -- Kelly's softball team recorded its second win over Cape Central (10-4) this season, knocking off the Lady Tigers 3-2 Wednesday to remain undefeated.

Kelly (8-0) scored all three runs in the third inning. Bridgett Riley had a big two-run double in that inning. She also pitched the last two innings for the save.

Marissa Essner picked up the win. In five innings, she allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits and one walk, while striking out four.

"It was a good conference win for us," Kelly coach Melanie Heuring. "I feel we're playing pretty good and our pitching is real strong right now."

Holly Schnurbusch suffered the loss for Central. She went the distance and allowed just four hits. She walked two and struck out two.

St. Vincent 9, Crystal City 2

CRYSTAL CITY -- Amanda Richardet went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four runs batted in as the Lady Indians (4-6) stuck it to Crystal City.

Jean Brown went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and is 5-for-8 with three runs and seven RBIs in her last two games.

Julie Hager went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and got the win on the mound. She went 2 2-3 innings and gave up two runs on three hits, five walks and two hit batters. She struck out one. Jessica Kern came on in relief and struck out one and allowed one hit in 4 1-3 innings.
