NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team remained perfect in Ohio Valley Conference play, sweeping to an impressive victory over a winless Tennessee State squad Friday night.

Southeast allowed just 10 total points in the match, defeating Tennessee State 15-5, 15-0, 15-5.

The victory improved Southeast to 7-8 overall and 4-0 in the OVC. Tennesse State fell to 0-14 and 0-4.

Lea Beckemeyer led the way on offense for Southeast with 14 kills and she had six digs on defense. Suzanne Gundlach led the Otahks' defensive effort with nine digs. Brenna Harper was credited with 28 assists.

Tennessee Tech posted a 2-0 win over Southeast Missouri State's women's soccer team in the Otahkians' Ohio Valley Conference opener.

The Otahkians fell to 4-3-1 overall while Tennessee Tech improved to 5-5-0 and 2-0 in the OVC.

Cheryl Bjiorgan scored Tennessee Tech's first goal from a shot outside the penalty box 24:16 into the game. Angela Freund scored the second goal nine minutes later.
