ADVANCE -- Advance bolted to a 10-point lead in the first quarter and saw Woodland whittle but not totally overcome the deficit throughout the remainder of the game as the Hornets won 47-40 Tuesday night.

Daniel Turner netted 12 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter, which ended with Advance ahead 20-10.

The Hornets led 27-20 at halftime and 36-30 at the end of three quarters. Woodland, which got 12 points from David Massa, trimmed the lead to a point with two minutes left in the game, but saw Advance pull away down the stretch.

Garrett Broshuis added 13 points for Advance, which improved to 12-10.

Leopold 75, Chaffee 60

LEOPOLD -- Brian Holzum netted 21 points and Jason Van de Ven tallied 20 as Leopold defeated Chaffee.

Leopold (12-7) also received 15 points from James Ashton. Matt Stroup scored a game-high 29 points for Chaffee while Mike McLard tallied 10.

Leopold led just 30-27 at halftime but pulled away in the third quarter with a 23-10 scoring advantage. The Wildcats took a 53-37 lead into the fourth quarter.

Oran 85, Richland 65

ORAN -- Jerod Hamm poured in a game-high 30 points to more than offset half of Richland's scoring duo of Sherome Cole, 28 points, and Corey Gipson, 26.

While none of Cole or Gipson's teammates scored more than five points, Hamm got plenty of support -- Billy Loper tallied 16, Daniel Wheeler had 14 and Chris Nichols added 11.

Oran (14-6) led throughout, leading 21-14 afer one quarter and 35-31 at halftime.

St. Vincent 58, St. Pius 54

HILLSBORO -- Bryan Meyer tallied 13 points to help St. Vincent hold off St. Pius in Jefferson County Conference action.

Kyle Eggers added 11 points and Gabe Hotop contributed 10 for St. Vincent (11-5, 5-3).

The Indians built a 15-10 lead in the first quarter and took a six-point edge, 27-21, into halftime. St. Vincent extended its lead to 41-32 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Dexter 91, Bell City 24

BELL CITY -- Dexter pummeled Bell City on its home court, building a 46-7 lead by halftime.

Cody Gilbow led four Bearcat players in double figures with 15 points.

Nathan Walter netted 11 points for Bell City, which fell to 5-13.
