Cape Central's girls basketball team took care of business early Monday, building a 20-point first-quarter lead en route to a 66-34 victory over Sikeston.

Central improved to 17-6 overall and 3-1 in the SEMO Conference.

Kim Aslinger led the way with 20 points while teammate Dionna Webb was right behind with 19.

The Lady Tigers led 28-8 after one quarter and 44-13 by halftime.

Central also won the JV contest as Trisha Klipfel netted 15 points in a 46-20 victory.

Jackson 61, Farmington 49

FARMINGTON -- Chrissi Glastetter totaled 24 points and Melissa Palmer had 13 as Jackson, the top-ranked team in Missouri Class 4A, topped Farmington.

Jackson (19-1) led 40-37 entering the fourth quarter. A 21-12 edge in the final period provided the Lady Indians a cushion.

"We turned the ball over a lot, and so did Farmington," Jackson coach Ron Cook said. "It wasn't a pretty game."

Dexter 67, Woodland 45

MARBLE HILL -- Dexter's Mikaela Scott had 34 points in the Lady Bearcats' victory against Woodland.

Dexter built a 19-13 lead in the first quarter and stretched it to 41-22 by halftime.

Desirae Bollinger's 12 points led Woodland (1-12) and Sarah Booth added 10.

Scott City 54, Portageville 20

SCOTT CITY -- Becca Gowin hit for 20 points and Alaina Smith added 13 as Scott City routed Portageville.

Scott City, which improved to 12-8, held a 14-4 edge after one quarter and a 28-13 margin at halftime.

Perryville 58, Fredericktown 46

PERRYVILLE -- Perryville broke open a tied game in the fourth quarter, outscoring Fredericktown by 12 points over the final eight minutes.

Perryville (14-9) led 21-17 at halftime but saw Fredericktown pull even 35-35 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Jeni Blevins led Perryville with 15 points while Tiffany Perkins netted 15 points and Amy Verseman scored 11.

Jessica Autry and Nickey Tucker each scored 10 points for Fredericktown.

Boys basketball

Scott City 77, Hayti 56

POPLAR BLUFF -- Scott City junior Ronald Watson recorded a triple-double as the Rams held off Hayti in a game played at Three Rivers Community College.

Watson finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks. Jon Beck had 19 points, Luke Sample 16 and Ryan Weatherspoon 11.

"Ronald had a heck of a performance," Scott City coach Derek McCord said.

Scott City, which won its 12th straight and moved to 21-2, hit 11 3-pointers. The Rams led 57-48 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring Hayti 20-8 in the final period.

Lee Marvin Hamilton paced Hayti with 19 points.

St. Vincent 44, Fredericktown 43

PERRYVILLE -- Fredericktown's Luke McKinnis attempted a 17-foot jump shot from the corner as time expired, but the try bounded off the front of the rim and St. Vincent escaped with the win.

St. Vincent (12-6) trailed 27-18 at halftime but a 12-4 edge in the third quarter pushed the Indians back into game.

St. Vincent's Ryan Prost had a game-high 14 points. For Fredericktown, Brandon Boswell had 12, Clay Whitener 11 and Brandon Toppins 10.
