AREA BRIEFS: CAPAHAS BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT

The McDowell Capahas will hold their second annual benefit golf tournament May 6 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson.

Lunch will be served at noon, with tee times beginning at 1 p.m. The entry fee of $65 includes lunch and a golf cart. All proceeds go toward the McDowell Capahas summer baseball team.

There will be a host of prizes awarded, including a $300 gift certificate to the first-place team; a $200 gift certificate to the second-place team; and a $100 gift-certificate to the third-place team.

Also, the first hole-in-one on the 8th hole received $10,000 in a promotion sponsored by McDowell South.

The tournament is limited to the first 30 teams. The deadline to register is April 30.
