PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent improved to 3-1 on the season with an offensive eruption in a 16-7 win over visiting Fredericktown Wednesday.

The Indians scored five in the second inning, six in the fourth and five in the sixth.

Dusty Wengert went 3-for-5 with a triple and four runs batted in for St. Vincent.

Bryan Meyer -- who got the win on the mound -- went 1-for-2 with a 3-run homer in the fourth inning. He also walked twice and scored three times.

Justin Amschler and Gabe Hotop also got in on the hitting parade with two hits apiece. Hotop had three RBIs.

Meyer got the win in 5 1-3 innings. He allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three.

Wengert pitched 1 2-3 innings of relief and allowed one run on one hit. He walked no one and struck out one.

SOFTBALL

Scott City 18, Oak Ridge 7

OAK RIDGE -- Scott City's Kristen Burton went 4-for-5 with six runs batted in as the Lady Rams upended Oak Ridge Wednesday.

Lindsey Baker, who pitched three innings in relief for Scott City, went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Baker relieved starter Kyla Smith after Smith dominated the first two innings. Smith allowed one run on no hits, but she walked five. Smith fanned three.

Baker pitched three innings and allowed six runs on six hits. She walked none and struck out one.

Tara Phillips went 2-for-3 and had three RBIs, while teammate Ashley Lynn went 2-for-4 with a double.

Michaela Morgan suffered the loss for Oak Ridge. She went the distance, yielding 18 runs on 15 hits and 11 walks. She struck out nine.

The game was called due to darkness in the top of the sixth inning.

GIRLS SOCCER

Jackson 10, Hillsboro 0

JACKSON -- Julie Wunderlich scored four goals as the Lady Indians haunted visiting Hillsboro in a game that was called at halftime because of the lopsided score.

Jessica Shultz added three goals for the Lady Indians (2-2-1). Jennifer Horst, Amanda Lowes and Lacie Hodo each scored a goal apiece.

Goalkeeper Dana Littlepage recorded the shutout.

Carrie Meyer had three assists and Sarah Schlick provided one.

The junior varsity won 9-0.
