Notre Dame High's softball team used a big start to roll past visiting Perryville 11-1 in a five-inning, run-rule game Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs scored nine first-inning runs and never looked back as they improved their record to 2-1. The Lady Pirates fell to 0-2.

"We had a real good game," said Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim.

Freshman Ramona Blankenship pitched all five innings, allowing four hits while striking out two and walking three.

Notre Dame had seven hits, led by Traci Kluesner with two.

Perryville's Samantha Rehkop had two hits, including a fourth-inning home run. Amanda Schumer was the losing pitcher.

The Lady Pirates won the JV game 16-15. Megan Massey got the victory.

Perryville hosts Poplar Bluff today while Notre Dame hosts Kelly Wednesday.

Windsor 16, St. Vincent 2

PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent suffered a five-inning loss at home to fall to 1-2.

Windsor had 14 hits and also received 11 walks and four errors.

St. Vincent had seven hits, no player having more than one.

Windsor's JV also romped 18-2.

The Lady Indians host Notre Dame Thursday.
