AREA BRIEFS: HERSHEY TRACK & FIELD MEET IN CAPE

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 12th annual Hershey Track & Field Meet June 12 at the Central High School track complex.

The meet, which will begin at 9 a.m., is open to boys and girls ages 9-14. Events that will be offered are 50, 100, 200 and 400 dashes; 800 and 1,600 runs; standing long jump; softball throw; and 4x100 relay.

Winners will advance to the state meet July 9 in Jefferson City. The entry fee for the local meet is $2.
