POPLAR BLUFF -- Notre Dame claimed the SEMO Conference title outright Monday with a 14-1 pounding of Poplar Bluff.

Eftink and Nathan Essner both finished with two hits in Notre Dame's 11-hit attack. Essner scored four times.

Mark Ostendorf shutout the Mules until the sixth inning. He allowed six hits, walked one and struck out five.

Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead in the first and scored six times in the third with the help of Eftink's blast. The lead grew to 9-0 in the fourth and 14-0 in a five-run sixth.
