SCOTT CITY -- Lucas Ward's run-scoring single in the seventh inning lifted Scott City High's baseball team to a dramatic 8-7 win over Kelly.

Kelly led 5-0 after two innings and 7-5 in the seventh.

"It was a great win for us," said Scott City coach Mike Umfleet. "It's nice to finally come back and win a game."

Scott City improved to 7-11 while Kelly fell to 16-4.

The Rams had 12 hits. Lance Amick, Wade Powers, Terry Enderle and Ward were each 2-for-4. Ward also got the win in relief of starter Brandon Amick. Jason Glastetter took the loss.

Chaffee 17, East Prairie 7

CHAFFEE -- Chaffee pounded out 16 hits in its 10-run-rule win over East Prairie. The Red Devils improved to 15-4.

Chaffee's Dusty Leggett had four hits, four RBIs and five runs; Matt Stroup three hits and five RBIs; Travis Hanback two hits and two RBIs; Jeremy Lynn two hits and G.P. Glueck one hit and four RBIs.

Phillip Blevins allowed nine hits in six innings and got the win.

St. Vincent 4, Valle 0

PERRYVILLE -- Trent Sauer held Valle of Ste. Genevieve to four hits as the Indians blanked the Warriors.

Sauer walked four and struck out three.

Dusty Wengert went 2-for-3 for the Indians, who had seven hits overall.

St. Vincent (10-10) scored twice in the first and added single runs in the third and fifth innings.

St. Vincent, which committed six errors in an 8-6 loss to Festus on Monday, did not make an error against the Warriors.

Oran 17, Bell City 2

BELL CITY -- Phillip Seyer went 4-for-4 with two homers and seven RBIs as Oran romped in five innings.

The Eagles (15-5) banged out 17 hits. Chris Nichols and Travis Friga had three apiece while Ryan Dennis and Dustin Dannenmueller added two each. Dennis had three RBIs.

Dustin Dannenmueller pitched three innings for the win.

GIRLS SOCCER

Cape Central 2, Ursuline Academy 2

ST. LOUIS -- Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Central's Kim Aslinger scored twice in the second half and the Lady Tigers wound up with a tie against Ursuline Academy, ranked No. 6 in St. Louis and No. 4 in the state.

Amber Voerg assisted on Aslinger's first goal. Central, ranked eighth in the state, is now 20-1-2.

Central's JV team improved to 11-1-1 with a 2-0 win. Trisha Klipfel had a goal and an assist and Katie Hawkins had a goal as Jessica McDonald recorded her eighth shutout.

Notre Dame 4, Marion 3

MARION, Ill. -- Notre Dame moved to 11-10-2 with its win over Marion, Ill.

Jill Edwards had two goals and Emily Worley and Laura Mittrucker each had one. Cyndi Cox had two assists and Mittrucker and Lynne Obermiller had the other two.

The score was tied 2-2 before Notre Dame scored two straight goals early in the second half.

Perryville 2, Jackson 1

JACKSON -- Jackson led 1-0 at halftime on Julie Wunderlich's goal on a Jessica Schultz assist, but Perryville scored twice in the second half on a pair of Amanda Schumer goals.

Britney Weibrecht assisted on both Schumer tallies. Perryville improved to 16-3-2. Jackson fell to 14-6-1.

Jackson's JV team won 1-0.

SOFTBALL

East Prairie 2, Chaffee 1

CHAFFEE -- East Prairie scored two runs in the second and Chaffee one, but neither team scored after that and East Prairie escaped with the win.

Chaffee's season closed at 14-4. East Prairie is 11-1.

Jamie Duncan (9-3) allowed seven hits in seven innings and took the loss. Jennifer Siebert and Tasha Foulk had Chaffee's two hits.

Advance 4, New Madrid 1

ADVANCE -- Advance moved to 13-3 with its victory against New Madrid County Central.

Ashley Hitt went all seven innings, allowed five hits and got the win. The Lady Hornets totaled five hits and were led by Amber Bahr (two hits) and Hitt (a double and three RBIs).

Kelly meet

BENTON -- Kelly's boys and girls both won the meet, which they hosted.

The Hawks (129 points) topped Chaffee (71), Scott City (48), Oran (41) and East Prairie (32). The Lady Hawks (86) beat Chaffee (50), East Prairie (48) and Scott City (42).
