Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team recently signed three high school seniors to letters of intent for the 1999 season.

Emily Johnson, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker/outside hitter, earned St. Louis All-Metro and team MVP honors at Mater Dei High School in Breese, Ill. She had 220 kills, 248 digs and 197 blocks as a senior.

Brenna Harper, a 5-7 setter, starred for Colchester (Ill.) High School, which is near Macomb. She had 862 assists and 121 digs as a senior. Her sister, Kara, was the setter for Eastern Illinois from 1994-97.

Bobbi Carlile, a 5-10 outside hitter/middle blocker, earned Kansas City All-Metro and team MVP honors at Pleasant Hill High School. As a senior, she had 406 kills and 160 blocks.

"We're very pleased with these three recruits," said Southeast coach Cindy Gannon. "Emily is a very powerful player, Brenna is an outstanding setter and Bobbi is loaded with raw talent. She is very athletic."
