An outfielder who last played for the Indians in 1995, Robinson had been hitting .264 with Indianapolis. He began the season with the Seattle Mariners' organization and was hitting .322 for Triple A Tacoma before being traded.

Robinson has put up solid minor-league numbers the past several years but has only spent a very brief period in the majors, that being when he was called up by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays late last season. He was then acquired by Seattle in the offseason.
