Coach: Steve Burk

Week report: Walter displayed the consistency that pushed the Jackson Indians to an 11-game winning streak through last week, scoring 22 points in two home wins. The 6-foot-5 Walter totaled 22 points and 14 rebounds Tuesday in a 46-34 SEMO Conference win against Sikeston. He then came back Friday with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 58-47 victory over Perryville. Jackson finished the week 16-3 overall and 3-0 in league play.

On the season: Walter, a returning all-district performer and four-year starter for the Indians, is winding up an outstanding career at Jackson. He currently leads the team in scoring (17.5 ppg), rebounds (nine per game) and shooting percentage (65 percent). He's also shooting 70 percent from the free-throw line. With several colleges recruiting him, Walter's talents may end up earning him a college basketball scholarship.

Coach's comments: "Jeff is our go-to guy on the inside. He's the one (player) that ideally, if we can get him the ball, that's who we'll go to. He has a good touch around the basket and he's taken on a leadership role for us this year. He's also a very strong and aggressive rebounder. He's been our most consistent rebounder and he doesn't turn the ball over very much."

Coach: Ron Cook

Week report: Glastetter started the week Monday with a season-high four 3-pointers and 18 points in a 79-61 home-win over Perryville. Thursday she displayed her defensive prowess with several steals and 11 points in a 77-44 win against state-ranked Notre Dame. The Lady Indians moved up another notch on the 4A poll to second this week with a 16-1 mark.

On the season: Glastetter has moved into the starting line-up this season after coming off the bench last year for the Class 4A runner-up. The 5-11 Glastetter averages nine points a game and leads the Lady Indians in free-throw shooting, making 80 percent from the line. She also has a nice touch from behind the 3-point-arc, making 30 percent of her 3-pointers. Glastetter is also one of the top students in her class.

Coach's comments: "Chrissi's a complete player overall and she continually strives to improve her game. She's progressively getting better as the year goes and as she gains experience. She's one of the better ball handlers on the team. Chrissi gets (the ball) down court quickly. She's a very unselfish player which makes her a valuable member of the team. She's going to keep on improving."
