St. Pius used a big first quarter to take a lead it would never lose.

"The first quarter was a killer," said St. Vincent coach Terry Wengert. "We came out in a daze then picked it up the rest of the game, but to late."

Foul trouble also hurt St. Vincent as three Squaws fouled out of the game. St. Pius made 22 of 37 free throws.

With its conference schedule complete, St. Vincent hosts non-conference games against Valle of Ste. Genevieve on Wednesday and Fredericktown on Thursday.
